Etna can be reached from Rifugio Sapienza which is based in Nicolosi. Nicolosi is a town that can be reached in just 40 minutes. Being in Nicolosi you drive to Sapienza refuge where you get the cable car that brings you up to 2500 meters high. Then carry on with 4×4 vehicles.
